Here are some of my favorite training tips & training games

Playing Scent Games With Your Dog

11 year old Player has had 1 training session before this. It doesn’t take long for dogs to catch onto this game. Start by showing your dog that you put a piece of food into an empty container. When he finds the food praise him and add another few pieces of food to the container while his muzzle is still down in it. You may help your dog by pointing to the pile of objects as I did in this video. Once your dog understands the game, put him out of sight so he doesn’t see where you are hiding the food. Gradually add more containers and other items to hide the food in, on, or under. This is a great way to feed your dog his meals, especially if your dog is prone to bloat from eating too fast. This game can be played with dogs that have disabilities or behavioral issues. Think of the fun you can have at home with your dog on a rainy or snowy day!
